GRAM STAIN TUTOR

This program demonstrates the laboratory performance of this important staining technique and provides a pictorial library of most pathogenic bacteria.  There are also pictures of some of the white blood cells that are part of the body's immune system.

MICROBES IN MOTION

This is an interactive CD ROM that provides an informative and entertaining overview of most topics in Microbiology.  It is available in the Medical computer lab and on the Microbiology lab computers.  Have a look at it.  Instruction required to operate these programs is provided in the Medical Computing Lab Manual. 

IMMUNOLOGY FOR MEDICAL STUDENTS

This is a program designed and written by Dr. A. McGibbon, a former medical student, and Dr. T. Lee of our faculty especially for the Immunology component of the PIM unit. ASM CASES IN MEDICAL MICROBIOLOGY AND INFECTIOUS DISEASES

This provides a series of medical cases with patient presentation, laboratory data and some questions related to the computer case.

PLEASE NOTE: The three commercial software programs listed above are available for viewing on any of three computers in the Microbiology lab, room 3220, Dentistry. Usual hours are 8:30 to 4:30, but check with the technologist on duty, or make a reservation if you wish to use these computers at a specific time by calling 494-3717.
